Khalil Fong’s Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You
Please don’t laugh at me as I’ve always thought that Khalil Fong was from somehow converted to being a Malay or probably somewhere in his bloodline there’s a drop of it.
Yes, after being laughed at by Frances, I’ve finally know that he’s pure Chinese laaaaa.
Khalil was born in Hawaii and his family had moved to Shanghai when he was 6. His father, Les Fong (an American-born Chinese from San Francisco, California), wanted Khalil to learn more about Chinese culture.
Six years later, they moved to Guangzhou and lived there for about 2 years. Afterwards, they moved to Hong Kong.
His first language is English and he can speak Mandarin, Shanghainese, Hawaiian Pidgin English, and Cantonese. Whoaaaaaa…
Although based in Hong Kong, his career and popularity grew in Taiwan. This is because his songs are sung in Mandarin rather than Cantonese. When asked, Khalil explained that Mandarin was his second language, next to English, and that he could express himself better in Mandarin rather than Cantonese.
Take a look at his official website here
Here’s a quick one that I’ve done with Adobe Photoshop CS4. I’ve cropped the edges using my mouse, so you might find the edges kinda rough. Anyway…lol…

YES JACKIE I AM NOT SO TALL LOR…T____T
Anyway, one of the songs that I’ve really liked is “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You“.
This song was made popular by Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser and it was originally recorded by George Benson in 1984.
I love watching the video as it’s a really simple & romantic storyline. Nothing too fanciful though. And with Khalil’s appearance, it made the video more meaningful. Damnit, I wish I could sing half as good as him.
Here’s another nice one by Khalil…
And another - Wonderful Tonight
And for those who would like to learn the piano version of the song, I’ve managed to find this awesome video by Leshmye. Check him out because he has many other piano pieces that you might want to learn up! Thumbs up…seriously…
